鐵嶺市外事學(xué)校是遼寧省人大代表李華于1994年自籌資金創(chuàng)辦的，經(jīng)鐵嶺市教育局批準(zhǔn)的鐵嶺市第一所民辦中等職業(yè)學(xué)校。是國(guó)家級(jí)重點(diǎn)中等職業(yè)學(xué)校，遼寧省職業(yè)教育學(xué)會(huì)副會(huì)長(zhǎng)單位，民辦教育學(xué)會(huì)副會(huì)長(zhǎng)單位，中國(guó)成教協(xié)會(huì)會(huì)員單位。

　　學(xué)校的飯店服務(wù)與管理專業(yè)為遼寧省品牌專業(yè)，旅游服務(wù)與管理專業(yè)為遼寧省(重點(diǎn))示范專業(yè)，物流專業(yè)、計(jì)算機(jī)應(yīng)用與維修專業(yè)為鐵嶺市(重點(diǎn))示范專業(yè)。學(xué)校是享譽(yù)全國(guó)的民辦名牌學(xué)校。學(xué)校占地5.3萬(wàn)平方米，建筑面積1.8萬(wàn)平方米，由教學(xué)區(qū)、生活區(qū)、運(yùn)動(dòng)區(qū)、休閑區(qū)組成，是一所設(shè)施全、環(huán)境美、條件優(yōu)秀、符合國(guó)家標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的現(xiàn)代化花園式民辦職業(yè)學(xué)校。

　　學(xué)校開(kāi)設(shè)了飯店服務(wù)與管理、旅游服務(wù)與管理、外語(yǔ)、計(jì)算機(jī)應(yīng)用與維修、物流、民航服務(wù)、學(xué)前教育、寶玉石鑒定與加工、網(wǎng)絡(luò)監(jiān)控、電信傳媒，播音與主持人等11個(gè)熱門專業(yè)。學(xué)校與韓國(guó)昌信大學(xué)、沈陽(yáng)師范大學(xué)等26所中外高等院校結(jié)成了聯(lián)合辦學(xué)單位，與萬(wàn)豪國(guó)際酒店集團(tuán)、希爾頓國(guó)際酒店集團(tuán)、深圳華僑城旅游集團(tuán)等100余家知名企業(yè)結(jié)成了校企合作單位。實(shí)施“訂單教育”，形成廣泛的就業(yè)網(wǎng)絡(luò)?，F(xiàn)有24個(gè)教學(xué)班，學(xué)生1300名，生源來(lái)自于遼寧、黑龍江、吉林、內(nèi)蒙、河南、河北、山東、山西、湖南、廣東、福建等十一個(gè)省區(qū)。

　　2002年，學(xué)校被教育部確定為“十五”規(guī)劃課題“活化英語(yǔ)口語(yǔ)教學(xué)”重點(diǎn)科研項(xiàng)目課題單位，于2005年已順利結(jié)題?，F(xiàn)又承擔(dān)了教育部《中等職業(yè)學(xué)校語(yǔ)文課為專業(yè)課服務(wù)的研究及對(duì)策》科研課題項(xiàng)目。

　　現(xiàn)有教職工106名，其中高、中級(jí)職稱34人，具有專業(yè)資格證書(shū)的專業(yè)課教師占94%。雙師型教師占專業(yè)教師總數(shù)的60%。畢業(yè)生全部在北京、上海、天津、廣東、江蘇、浙江、海南、遼寧等地的大中城市就業(yè)。

　　5對(duì)外交流

　　學(xué)校走出國(guó)門，加強(qiáng)國(guó)際交流。2004年7月13日，李華校長(zhǎng)親赴韓國(guó)與昌信大學(xué)簽訂了國(guó)際合作辦學(xué)協(xié)議，7月21日，市政府主管教育副市長(zhǎng)孫德蘭親筆在“國(guó)際合作辦學(xué)協(xié)議”上作了批示：“以‘鐵嶺市民辦教育走出國(guó)門——外事學(xué)校與韓國(guó)昌信大學(xué)合作辦學(xué)協(xié)議簽定’發(fā)布新聞稿”，《鐵嶺日?qǐng)?bào)》對(duì)此發(fā)布了專題新聞。2006年4月，李華校長(zhǎng)隨鐵嶺市教育代表團(tuán)赴新加坡學(xué)習(xí)，考察了新加坡技術(shù)人才培養(yǎng)的管理與教學(xué)模式的創(chuàng)設(shè);5月，在李華校長(zhǎng)的盛情邀請(qǐng)下，新加坡著名學(xué)者蔡志禮博士來(lái)鐵嶺到外事學(xué)校參觀、考察、講學(xué)，受到了市委、市政府領(lǐng)導(dǎo)的會(huì)見(jiàn)，同時(shí)被鐵嶺市政府聘為鐵嶺市經(jīng)濟(jì)顧問(wèn)、教育顧問(wèn)，也被外事學(xué)校聘為名譽(yù)校長(zhǎng)。在互訪中，建立了友好關(guān)系，同時(shí)也為鐵嶺市搭建了在經(jīng)濟(jì)、教育方面國(guó)際交流的又一橋梁。

　　2004年的7月25日，李華校長(zhǎng)當(dāng)選為第二屆全國(guó)民辦教育十大杰出人物，并以“有為才有位”為題在頒獎(jiǎng)大會(huì)上做了典型發(fā)言，由此，將鐵嶺的民辦教育推向全國(guó)。

　　2005年9月5日，校長(zhǎng)李華當(dāng)選為中國(guó)職業(yè)教育百名杰出校長(zhǎng)，并以“讓更多的孩子就業(yè)成才”為題做了專題發(fā)言。
